Choosing and Customizing Templates
Krokanti CV Builder comes with professionally designed templates that cover a range of industries and career levels. Every template is fully customizable — you are never locked into the default look.
Available Templates
Free Templates
Classic The most versatile template. Clean single-column layout with clear section headings. Works well for any industry. Recommended for first-time users and traditional industries (finance, law, consulting, healthcare).
Compact A two-column layout that fits more information on a single page. The left column holds skills, languages, and contact info while the right column focuses on work history and education. Good for candidates with 5+ years of experience.
Pro Templates
Executive A premium template with a bold header, accent bar, and refined typography. Designed for senior-level and C-suite candidates. Conveys authority and gravitas.
Technical Optimized for software engineers, data scientists, and other technical roles. Includes a dedicated skills matrix block and a prominent projects section. GitHub and portfolio links are prominently placed.
Creative For designers, marketers, and creative professionals. Includes a subtle color accent in the header and supports a profile photo block. Not recommended for highly conservative industries.
How to Switch Templates
You can change your template at any time without losing any content:
- Open your resume in the editor
- Click Template in the top toolbar
- Browse the template gallery and click a template to preview it applied to your actual content
- Click Apply to confirm the change
Your blocks, text, and formatting are preserved when you switch templates. Only the visual presentation changes.
Customizing Colors
Each template has a primary color used for headings, dividers, and accent elements. To change it:
- Open the editor and click Design in the right panel (when no block is selected)
- Under Accent Color, click the color swatch to open the color picker
- Choose a preset or enter a custom hex value
- The canvas updates in real time
For most professional contexts, stick to neutral or dark colors: navy, dark gray, forest green, or burgundy. Bright colors can hurt ATS parsing on older systems.
Customizing Fonts
The Design panel also controls typography. You can set:
- Heading font — used for your name and section titles
- Body font — used for all other text
- Base font size — adjust from 9pt to 12pt
Available fonts include Geist, Inter, Merriweather, Playfair Display, and Source Sans Pro. All fonts are embedded in the PDF export so the recipient sees exactly what you designed.
Customizing Layout and Spacing
In the Design panel, you can adjust:
- Page margins — narrow, standard, or wide
- Section spacing — tight, balanced, or relaxed
- Line height — compact or comfortable
Use Preview after making layout changes to confirm everything fits on the intended number of pages.
Tips for Template Selection
- Match the template to the company culture — a creative template for a startup, classic for a bank
- If you are unsure, Classic is always the safe choice
- ATS systems read text, not design — any template will work equally well for automated screening
- Ask a friend or mentor to review the template before sending it to employers
